My new travel addiction: Meet Tom Bihn!
For years my family has been trying to get me to consolidate my packing while traveling. This is much easier said than done!
My needs are a bit different than someone 30 years my junior. Much less, I have insulin to keep cool, meds, sensors, and at times aching feet! I also tend to over pack and seem to end up washing a whole load of clean laundry when I return from a trip.
This year, for my 58th birthday they introduced me to a new, smaller backpack for traveling. After much research, they picked a Tom Bihn SYNIK 30 for me. It is made in Seattle with very high quality materials. It has all kinds of organizational pockets and a large “clam shell” opening compartment for clothes. Tom Bihn also sells many storage bags, packs, and gadgets to help you organize your pack. They even sell a packing cube that is made just for the SYNIK 30!
We all left the store with a “Handy Little Thing.” It is a small organizational pack, and you can add a strap to it to transform it into a small day pack. Check it out at your own risk, as I said, their products can be addicting.
I took all my new bags on a test run to the Big Island of Hawai'i last month, and I was sold! We are now taking a 20+ day adventure to Japan and can’t wait to see how I fare with a slimmed down load.
